honda civic 97 ex manual
Ok so, the car has 121k miles on it, in 1st-2nd and sometimes in 3rd gear when I'm trying to maintain my speed it tends to rock, back and fourth kind of like when it stalls. Example driving 2nd gear at 18-20mph i take my foot of gas when going over a speed bump, press it gently to speed up after I cleared the speed bump and it rocks back and fourth. I was thinking it could be fuel pump, maybe spark plugs? It could be clutch disks? I poured some chevron fuel injector cleaner and see if it does the trick, but after 100 miles it made no difference. I use good fuel, oil change done. I just bought the car recently. It does have an alignment problem on the left driver wheel, but could it make the car rock that bad?

If you are referring to the car physically rocking back & forth, that would most likely be a suspension/bushing issue, nothing that fuel injector cleaner would resolve.

If its what I thinking it is (a type of surging) my Civic does the same thing (Same year and model).
I just bought the car a month ago and have noticed my motor mounts are shot, and I'm soon to replace them hoping it will fix the issue.
Just something to check into.
