I have 1994 Civic LX 4 dr. I was replacing the floor one piece molded carpet and putting some sheet metal screws thru the floor to secure the carpet without realizing thatthere are 4-5 black tubings running thru the underside of the car. Is thisfuel line or brake line. I might have poked them. How do you check if you have leak issue in this area. Do I need to turn the ignition key on and see if I have fuel coming out of the line. If I poke them, how do you fix it? I'm afraidthat it cancause fire.

well if they are fuel just turn on the key SHORTLY and look under the car for any fuel leaking......
and if the brakes simply pump the brake pedal afew times and look under the car for leaking brake fluid.....


if either one leaks. it can be a costly repair and time consuming as well to replace them... another reason why you NEVER drill holes without looking where you drill above and below!

 

I drove the car for 5 miles, and I didn't see any leaking fuel. I'll see if If I have brake fluid underneath. So, they are fuel and brake lines, correct? If I have to replace it, I'm just going to junk the car or part out. It's got bad valve and piston ring anyway. The bad thing is I already put $600 worth of brake job.
