Default Horn Wiring

Does anyone have a diagram or anything to help me with wiring a horn? The 2000 has to be inspected by state for plates since I bought it out of state, and the horn doesnt work. I checked the fuses and all is good. Havent checked the relay yet though and im not sure where it is. Im also fine with just rigging it for the inspection if anyone knows how...just run 2 wires through the firewall to a switch or something. They just care that it makes a noise haha.

horn is behind the bumper cover and has a 2-pin wire harness plug. one is power, one is ground. should be really easy to rig up. i'd wait for RonJ though so he can give you troubleshooting procedure before you go rigging stuff.

Exactly who I was waiting for haha. Im pretty sure the horn only has a single blue and red wire coming out of it though, I noticed it when putting on my grill yesterday.

The diagram tells you how to test whether the horn works.

I know the SRS has been disabled on the car. Is the SRS an orange clip under the dash? I found that hanging under with 4 wires going into it like Ive read they have. But I cant figure out where it connects to.

all of the SRS wires and plugs are yellow with yellow plastic tubing/tape over the wires.

I saw an empty yellow plug spot on the fuse box. So that is most likely the reason the horn isnt working then, right?

Anyone know how to rig up 2 wires you touch together to honk it? I can use this as a temp fix to pass the inspection...just put a button or switch on the 2 wires

well you only need to run one wire thru the wire wall... one wire is ground and the other is power. the ground you can conect to any bear metal. then just run the power wire thru the firewall, to a switch, then to a fuse and onto the fuse box.

but before i go hotwiring the setup just test the horn and if it doesnt work simply run to junk yard and buy one...

I have read that if your SRS light is on, your horn wont usually work, and my SRS light is on. But Ill test the horn before I hotwire it of course. The horn only has a blue/red wire coming off of it as far as I can see, so how do I run the ground? I imagine I just tap the blue/red wire into a hot spot on the fuse box dont I?

Edit: Can I just ground the switch run the blue/red wire to the other switch wire, then run the power switch wire to the fuse box for 12v?
