Before you think about replacing any specific component, you really need to test the refrigerant pressures at the low and high side as detailed in the 96-00 Civic manual (see link, pages 22-24 and 22-25). When you have the test results, use the Troubleshooting Chart below to diagnose the problem:

Start with an evaucate an recharge to make sure the charge is correct and there is no air in the system. Do you know what was wrong with your original compressor?

It was making noise when running. "Mechanic" said it was the clutch, but they replaced both anyway.
Now that it has been running a few days, it's getting a little colder. But still not make you cold, cold. Our Infiniti will FREEZE you out of the car if left on high. This stays on high........

My civic never was that cold. I think the temperature depends on the model of a/c units as well. infinitis are usually bigger engines. my windstar blows very cold.

I had enough today and bought a can of 134a. I added a little bit, and it seemed to help. So I added a little more and went for a drive. Don't know if it was because the sun was setting or it actually helped, but it actually showed some frost/condensation on the windshield.

My AC will get pretty cold, it will usually take every bit of 5 or 10 minutes. It is 94F here so everything is hot. I will almost always have water condensation on my vents when it stays on for 15-20 minutes. But like i said it is 94degress and 88% humidity. I guess i could get a thermometer and really find out.

At night i will sometimes have to turn it off cause im so cold

The air duct temperature in my 2000 Prelude SH is 40 deg F, inmy 2000 Civic EX is 43 deg F, and my 1981 Camaro (R12 system) is 30 deg F. All three cars will freeze me out after a while, and I have to turn the A/Cdown/off.

BTW whenever the system is opened - YOU ALWAYS REPLACE THE DRIER
