Bought a 99 EX with a sun roof. The material on the sun shade, slider, under the glass has become brittle and falling apart. I've installed tint on the sun roof which has helped tremendously, but now want to remove the slider so I can re-cover it with new material. I've removed the back side of the headliner and see the sun roof is a one piece unit that bolts to the roof. Is there a simple way to remove the shade without completely dismantling the headliner and dropping the sun roof?

 

you must remove the entire sunroof assemply. You have a few bolts on each side of it and some connectors to disconnect. Also the drain pipes with clips need to come off each corner.

It's easy with 2 people to take out and install...

When I had the assemply out the car, I only removed 2 bolts, 1 on each back corner and was able to move these little metal supports and slide the cover out from the back side.
