Default No Spark and other weird issues

OK, I have a 95 Civic 1.5L. Been driving the car with no problems whatsoever. I drove it to work today about 25 miles....on the way i stopped at a walmart about 2 miles away from where i work. When i went to leave, the car was shaking like crazy with a really low idle. I drove it to work and it was still acting weird. I drove it a little more to get a better idea of what was happening and the temp gauge started climbing so I pulled off to let it cool before going further...it NEVER overheated. Decided to drive it a little further down the street to a garage to see if they could have a look at it.. they haven't figured out what's wrong yet. Got there..they drove it and put it in the garage. Lots of smoke coming out of the tailpipe...very low/rough idle. The only thing they did was take the radiator cap off because they were going to "burp" it to get air out of the cooling system and when they went to start it with the radiator cap off it spewed coolant out of the radiator. The car was running and everything when I got it there.. I left and they called me back saying it wouldn't even start now.. it's turning over but not firing. What do you guys all think could cause these things??

White smoke = burning coolant

Together with the over heating and coolant spewing from the radiator, it seems that the head gasket may be blown. Compression test the cylinders.

That's also what we are thinking. However...there is no water in the oil...which is very strange..forgot to mention that in the original post. What about the no spark?

Are you sure there's no spark? Does it matter? If you have no compression and/or water in the cylinders, it will have trouble starting. Two or even one dead cylinder(s) can prevent a Civic from starting.

Water doesn't necessarily get into the oil right away.
