Default How to stop my car vibrating?

Hello. I have a 1995 honda civic ex coupe with a swapped turbo b18b1 engine. The engine and transmission are being held on with 90 DM polyurethane hasport mounts. I am told that these mounts will make the car vibrate an that it is normal but it vibrates a lot. I would like to know if there are any ways to dampen the vibration any because it vibrates the interior and makes a lot of noise. Thanks!

Get softer mounts. You bought something VERY stiff. Deal with it or go with a softer bushing.

What are the advantages of having stiffer mounts?

* Improved off-the-line traction
* Reduced wheel hop
* Improved vehicle stability
* Smoother shifting
* Reduced shock loads on driveline components
not really worth it on a daily driver though.

Yeah no kidding. I'm actually fine with the vibration itself, but it's the noise from the vibrating dash and everything. Thanks for the replys!

Yeah it's crazy. Any way of temporarily jut keeping the nose down a bit. Like all my dash is vibrating but there are a lot of holes in my firewall and relatively nothing under my dash because I have no AC or heat. Think I could put something under there to restrict the noise of my engine bay coming through my firewall?

It's really not that hard to take the dash out, which will make it a lot simpler to install soundproofing properly. You might also consider installing a heater again since you're daily driving it.

I took all of the dash off except for the main large peice. Getting my soundproofing soon. Climate is not really an issue where I live but I do have plans for a small heater/AC unit. One last question, if I did want to change my mounts to something softer, how hard would that be? And if I got it done by a mechanic, what would it cost? Thanks guys!
