Idle issues when cold
 

So I have some bubbles in my radiator and whenever its cold it starts up, idles high for about 15 seconds then it starts surging. And after a minute or two it goes away and starts idling lower and lower. Then its fine while hot. I don't see how the bubbles can cause this because the surging goes away after a few minutes. Anyone have this problem also?

If you have bubbles in your radiator, then you have air in your cooling system that needs to be bled out. Once all the air is purged from the system, I'll bet the idle issues clear up a bit.

But really, almost every car will start out with a higher idle when it's cold, then lower down when it's warmed up.

Remove your IACV and clean it out. Then bleed the coolant system.

Next time, be sure to tell us what year Civic and what motor you have.

Its a 95 with a d16z6. Could the IACV be causing the bubbles?

Which is why it is bad forum ettiquite to start new threads about the same problem. This appears to be the third new thread that you have started about the same problem. When the problem continues, find your original thread and bump it up with any new findings.

When did this issue begin happening btw? Were you ever working on your car? There could be a vacuum leak from something as small as the TB gasket. If you removed it (for cleaning etc), then reinstalled it with the same gasket, that could be a problem. Have you done anything with the car recently that could have caused this?

I doubt he gives a ****. You are the one "spamming" the forum up with the same thing over and over. So he might not be mad, but I am not happy about it.

MK is probably the MOST helpful person here. I am about 99.9% certain that every single person on here will agree. Piss him off and he will disappear from your threads asking for help. We are not paid (usually) to sit on forums to answer the same questions over and over again.

Its not like I post one a day, its been a while. And I haven't removed any parts that have gaskets and its been doing it since I got the car. Im just curious as to if theres bubbles in the radiator if it could only be from the HG. It sounds like theres a vacuum sound near the TB but I can't pinpoint it, and regardless I don't know if thats where the bubbles are coming from. Sorry for multi posting btw.

I never said anything about how often you were posting the threads. Regardless, doesn't matter if it is all within one day, or 3 months. If it is the same issue, stick to the same thread, especially if it is you own thread.

The only gray area of what I have been stating is if you are having the same problem as someone else did years ago and you found his thread, but didn't find the answer and you want to make a new thread about it. Just be sure to search around first. I am sure every possible issue with these cars have been talked about before one way or another.

Bubbles in the radiator can be signs of a blown HG. Conduct a compression test to see if that shows a leaking cylinder. Put your hands around the area that you here air coming through as the car is running and the idle is going up and down. If you hear air rushing by your finger then you found the leak. If you put your finger on the entire leak, the car should stop surging.

Have you removed/modified anything that could have caused this, or just simply one day it began acting up?
