Default Installed stereo now airbag light on???????

Ive installed a ton of decks, but now after installing my new deck in my 2004 Civic, the airbag light is on. Can anyone think of something in the installation of a deck that would cause this? Should I disconnect the negative battery cable to see if it clears it? Thanks,

Dave

Does this mean its a faulty light and it still works or what? The links didnt provide info as to if there are problems with the airbag systems or something else going

O.K. If your SRS light is on (at least on the EK civics 98-00) it means that there is a trouble code stored in the system and when there is a code stored in the system the air bags are disabled. Meaning they will not work if you hit something really hard. Go to the dealership inyour area and have them pull the SRS codes. They will be able to reset the system there. It will however cost you around $80. There have been a few writeups about resetting the system yourself, but i could not get them to work. Good Luck.

I have a OBDII reader but was unable to reset the SRS light since its not a check engine light---the car is under warranty do you think this would be covered? Thanks
