intake and muffler???
i really don't know much about cars. i saved up my money and got an 06 civic Lx coupe. i was looking on line for intakes and i think i can only get a CAI, do you have to take the bumper off to put that on? Now this one is going to sound dumb but like i said i dont know anything about cars... i wanted to get a muffler, i was looking on ebay they had some for about $50. first is that good or is it going to be really cheap. second everything on my car is stock can i just weld that muffler on or do i have to buy the whole exhaust system?? and my car is automatic.. dont know if that matters. THANKS for the help
First off, welcome to the forums
I don't own a 06, but for most CAI's, you have to either remove the bumper and/or the wheel well. If you get a SRI though, that's short ram intake, you do NOT have to remove any body parts. The install is an easy bolt on so you should have no trouble with doing it yourself.
Also, don't get a cheap muffler off ebay. For mufflers, you definitely get what you pay for. The sound dampening material in those muffler tend to wear out in a couple weeks and they sound like high pitched weed wackers... not a sound you want. You don't have to get an entire catback; it is perfectly acceptable to just do a muffler swap. Get a magnaflow muffler, and have a shop weld it on for ~$40. It'll sound good, and it's much cheaper than a full catback, only difference being you don't gain a few HPs (which is negligible anyways, so unless your trying to make a track car, I wouldn't really go for it).
Your car being an automatic might affect the part avaliability for your vehicle. For my 05 civic, A/T people cannot have a CAI, so it might be the same for your 06.
Hoped that helped

any power out of the muffler is basicall in your head, they really dont do much, but get a name brand (at the VERY least a magnaflow), honesyly with exhaust you get what you pay for. ebay muffler go to sh*t after 100 miles, and even up unitl hten they dont sound good. Go catback, all day
