Default Lighter wiring question

I installed my factory head unit and now whenever I charge my iPhone there is a huge amount of interference on my radio. Is this a trait wi th the oem head or could it be the way the cigarette lighter is wired. While I'm at it I've been considering wiring the lighter to work 24/7 like the one on my grand am. That way I can leave my phone in the car to charge for a while if I need to. Any suggestions how to go about wiring that ?

oh **** not too sure about the factory head unit. but if you decide to straight wire it wire a 15 amp fuse between the lighter and the battery incase something catastropic happens. its easier to change a blown fuse than redo wiring...
