Question Lost ring under seat

Last weekend, my husband was twirling his wedding ring around like he always does, when he dropped it! He was sitting in the passenger seat of my '99 Civic, and the ring bounced somewhere under the seat. We heard it bounce against metal. Since then, I have been going crazy - it's like it disappeared into a black hole! I've shined a flashlight in every nook I can see and have reached my little hand into every cranny I can reach. I cannot find the ring!

Any ideas? Obviously, as a next step, I'm thinking we should remove the seats and take a closer look. I've never done this myself though, so we might have to take it to a garage. Is it easy enough to do yourself? Are there certain nooks and crannies where you've temporarily lost something? My biggest fear is that we'll remove the seat and STILL not find it. How frustrating!!

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Did you check on top of the seat rail? Did you see any holes in the carpet exposing the metal floor?

You can pull the seats out yourself:

seriously, it's four freakin bolts holding the seat it. Pull it out and look around.

My guess is that it fell into the seat rail guide. Yer hubby would have to have some pretty dainty hands for that to happen though, lol
