Hi All,

I am a newbie to this forum. I need some help and advice from you guys.
I drive a 2000 Civic hatchback. The passenger door will not unlock. I can put the key in but it will not turn.
I tried unlocking it from the inside but the switch will not turn either. This happened after I parked the car for 2 months. Before that I had a hard time locking and unlocking. Now it won't turn at all.

is your lock power operated? If that maybe the case the wires could be mess up or basiclly your lock is broken. You can open your dor panal to take a look at it.

 

I dont belive they offered the hb in power options.

You will need to take your door panel off and check out the lock and unlock rods going to the lock. SOunds like one is bent or ruseted up good.

 

Agreed. Check those first. I had the same problem in my 88 hatch when I switched out door handles. Also, if they're not bent or rusted, fiddle with the distance the handle is from out door handle. That was my issue. Man, I really just typed fiddle.

Do you have aftermarket door lock actuators in there?

 

Thanks for your responses fellas! My car doesn't have power door lock so there are no actuators. It's just the reg honda door lock.

I guess I will have to take the door panel off inorder to find out what the cause is.

 

take the pass seat out too as it'll make ur life easier
