Default Mounting bolts!

Hi all,

I was going to change the belts in my 98 civic 2 dr EX last weekend. I tried to take the AC compressor bracket bolts out (The ones that hold the U bracket with rubber in it). They were very rusty. Unfortunately, the nuts that are inside the chassis popped. I can't see them, I can't reach them. I can't take out the bolts either. I will try to cut the bolts off (but they are really hard to reach) and weld new nuts on the chassis from outside. This will require to shorten the rubber bracket as much as the thickness of the new nuts. Anybody has any other suggestions on how to solve this problem?

Thanks

ugh.. I have one of those bastards on my tranny side. My buddy tossed the impact wrench on the bolt during my tear down, and snapped the welds on the net inside. So now it rattles when I idle, sounds AWESOME [:@]

Although I have not yet found it, there has to be a way to access them. Try pulling the front fender off and checking it out from that angle. I highly doubt Honda had those nuts inside when the chassis was cast, so they had to be put in somehow. I plan on doing the same thing, just havent had time with all the otherswap issues I've had

I knew I wasn't the only one
The rattling actually adds caracter

I took the bunper and the side lining of the fender out and I xouldn't see any access. Taking out the fender? This may take some time. I have a test on the 20th. I'll do it after that. If you do it before me, let me know.

Thanks.
