MY 97' civic Idles to high

My 97 civic Idles at 1400-1500/RPM even after warmig the car, the thing is that if the A/C is on the RPM are around 1100-1200/RPM, another thing, the car is manual transmision, when it is in Reverse, I dont have to use the gas pedal to move, I just don't touch the clutch pedal and it moves, it doesnt supposed to happen, can anybody help me?!?! I already change the cap, the rotor, module, ignition coil(I got an MSD), spark!!Any suggestion?!PLEASE HELP ME:)

Probably just need to adjust your idle speed. I don't know how to do it but I'm sure some other ppl on the forum can tell you how, or if you have a haynes manual I'm pretty sure it will tell you also.

Hey man, there is a screw on the end of the accelerator cable that is located near the spring loaded butterfly valve pulley. You can use this screw to adjust your idle manually, that is if it is the accelerator cable that is causing the high rpm's. If you adjust this screw to it's lowest point, and the rpm's are still high, you may need to bring it in to a shop and get a mechanic to use a scan tool to bring the idle down using the computer. Things that are not mechanical and that can cause high idle speeds are things like dirty fuel injectors, bad oxygen sensors, even a dirty air filter. Check these things out with a mechanic if you can't bring the idle speed down manually.

Actually I woulduse the screw to bring idle back to normal as a last resort. Fix the problem, don't kill the messenger. ;)

First things to check and clean and may be replace areyour fast idle valve and EACV.

+100. Dont mess with the idle speed screw. If your idle is high, it means that something else is wrong with the car. Do what Misha said and get it all checked out. Also, but a manual. Its the best $20 you will ever spend.

(Not counting that $20 you spent down in Mexico behind that bar. LMFAO)

I know its said again and again, but Seafoam is awesome. Lowered my idle by about 100-200 rpm, and it just runs and accelerates smoother.

Aight' Thankyou for helping, but I clean it with intake/carb cleaner, and its still idles at 1500-2000rpm, http://www.superhonda.com/forum/show....php?p=2894634, this is a good DIY step by step guide, but it seems that my carb its not the same, inside I only got one hole not two like its shown here, By the way I got the service manual and it doesnt talk about this, I aslo check the screw at the gas cable and it is already all the wat down, anything else you can tell me?:(

This is pretty good write-up on the matter over there. I did not understand, though, if you followed it step by step or not. The thing you call carb is actually called throtttle body. And, if you have service manual for your car, did you try to follow its troubleshooting flowchart for "too high idle when warm"? It usually is pretty good in isolating the problem. Could be some broken vacuum hoses, btw.
