My civic doesn't want to start....
for about 2 weeks as it was getting colder down here, my 87 SI hatchback wouldn't start after a drove it any distance. it happened after i turned off the engine, and would take like 10-20 mins of letting it sit for it to start again. pretty weak.... but tolerable. one morning i got up and it wouldn't start at all. jus turned over incessantly until i gave up and found a ride to work. someone had suggested a fuel prob, so i ran thru the possibilities and since its an old car started narrowing down and replacing the various parts of the fuel system. after replacing the fuel filter and pump..... fixing a few electical probs..... it still wont start. when i try to start it i loosen the bolt on the fuel filter to check pressure from the fuel pump and theres nothing; even with the new pump in; even with a line going from the battery directly to the pump(with a fuse and switch in line).
Prob with fuel lines? where should i go next. any suggestions would rock.

id check the main relay first. not sure where it is on your car, but when you find it you can resolder the joints. it happens to be one of the worst problems for the 91 and under fuel injected models aside the ignitor box.
well first can you hear the fuel pump coming on??? second when running the fuel pump strait off the battery make sure you got possitive and ground going to the right places i dont know on 87 civics but i know some older cars if the pump gets hooked up backwards it will acually run in revers. if all that is okay and your not geting any pressure to the fuel filter its time to take off some lines and check for clogs i would start with the lines in the tank and work forward.
