Need Advice
I seem to have an oil burning problem with my 1988 Honda Civic LX.
Compression is about between 168-170
I can only get a about 29 MPG on the highway, but it burns more oil at highway speeds.
Crappy gas milliage in town about 10?? It really seems like a fuel leak, but the honda dealer couldn't find one last December or November.
So is my oil problem caused by leaky valve spring seals?

how much oil are you going through? Have you done a wet and dry compression test? What about a leakdown test? These would tell you about your internals.
I dont think its possible for a civic to use fuel at the rate of 10mpg. Check for a leak, you should be able to smell it. What about your spark plugs? Taking them out and reading them will go a long way toward letting you know what's going on.
