need help with 93 si hatch!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!
sorry but i've been looking at all these post you guys have in here i tried most of them, but still it don't apply with my hatch. The thing thats wrong with my civic is that it won't start. It seems that the battery keeps getting drain but i can't figure out why it ain't the alternator but i do here this clicking noise coming from under the dash. i switch the main relay it still is not starting. can't hearfuel pump either.also every now and then it will start and then it will just go back to it was doing.not only that it will still turn over but just won't start.
I guess that there could be many possible explanations but, based on your information, you may have two separate problems -- a faulty fuel pump and a weak battery.
see the thing is that i replaced the battery already not only that i switched out the fuel pump also. I'm thinking it's a eletric short problem maybe but i don't know where to start
have a friend take a stick and tap the gas tank on the bottom 'flat across it'as you turn the key off and on and see if the fuel pump turns on if it does your fuel pump is the prob wore out i did this to get home 1 time had to do it at evry light thank god for good friends but changed the fuel pump and fixed it that is the fuel relay that is clicking as it is trying to turn it on if you dont get it to turn on that way dont beat up the gas tank check for better way to fix it the fuel pump relay will stay on untel its fuel pressure is up that is why your battery is dead also hope it helps
Following Alan's excellent suggestions will likely reveal the problem. Also, have you recently changed the fuel filter? Is your Check Engine Light (CEL) on? If so, the CEL code you can retrieve from your car's computer might be helpful.
You mentioned in your original post replacing the "main relay." For clarification, was this the fuel supply main relay? The picture below and in the next post may help you troubleshoot the main relay circuit.
As mentioned in previous posts, also make sure you are getting spark.
