Ok so I bought my car a couple days ago and already Im hearing a funny ticking noise in or around the drivers side front end. Ticking is probably the best word to describe what Im hearing but it could also be described as tapping or tisking... Im very **** and I hear just about every noise that goes on in my cars other than the norm. If anyone could be of assistance, that would be great. That sound comes and goes either when Im going 45 mph and under listening very well, braking and or turning. Any ideas and or help would be great. Thank you

 

is it a time bomb that explodes when you go over 45mph?

Do you think the sound is coming from the engine or from the front suspension/brakes? Based on the information, you possibly have a bad tie rod bushing or a bad CV joint(s) in an axle.

 

probably the front end suspension/brakes. . . its weird cause I also hear it when the windows are up. It almost sounds like plastic rubbing on plastic.

 

Check the power steering (PS) fluid level and the tension on the PS belt.

ok, I've come to the conclusion that its just new plastic/rubber rubbing together somewhere. If you can picture that and put that sound together, thats what it is

 

Try to pinpoint the location of the noise.

 

FOUND IT!!!! its somewhere under the damn drivers side front fender... kinda squeeking. Maybe a bolt?? something rubbing up on something
