ok so i just bought a civic dx hb with a bad motor. bought another motor and 5 speed trans. made it a 5 speed. motor ran fine after iintalled it but after about 200 miles the car just died at an idle. it was not getting spark. i changed the distributor and now i have spark but still wont fire. its getting spark and fuel. i dont know what else to try to do.. please help me

Did you put a new timing belt on the replacement engine? If you're sure there's spark and fuel, the next thing to check is timing and compression. You can check the cam timing by removing the upper timing belt cover, turn the crankshaft by hand (counterclockwise only) to TDC1 and see if the marks on the cam pulley line up.

Also, what model year is it?

yes i replaced the timing belt, it is in time. it is a 92 civic dx hb with the 1.5. it seems to have good compression. i did not do a compression test though.

Is the CEL ON?

Did you reinstall the plug wires in the wrong firing order?

Do you have battery voltage at the fuel injector connectors?

yes the cel is on. yes the wires are in the right position. andi will check and see if there is battery voltage at the injectors
