Hey I was looking at this webpage, and it looks like theres alot of people who are really knowleadge...

I have an s2k and a civic, I recently rebuilt my d15b7, I didnt an engine swap since its my daily driver, anyways, Bought everything brand new, pistons, bearings, headgasket, sparkplugs, water pump, belts, radiator cap, seals, all gasket sets, head was taken to the machine shop, etc etc.

but after 3,000 miles, my car started losing coolant, and its due the freeze plug, thats How I think is called, its the plug underneath the manifold, I havent change it yet, well anyways, I fill up the resorvoir tank and the car never heats up and everything is cool....

but whenever I drive the car hard, the temperature goes up, never goes to red, but it goes like 3/4, I put the heater on to maximun, drive it normally and goes back below half...

the fan is never working, I know is cold right now, but it never works, I havent bleed the system yet, I changed the thermostat and now i touch the bottom hose and is hot, the hose that goes with the thermostat is never hot, did I installed incorrectly the thermostat?

what else can I do?? what can It be?

Thermostat should open up and allow more flow of coolant through the hoses when the car is warm (the hoses will feel hot)and the thermostat should close under cold starting coditions so as to warm the motor to normal running conditions. Also, FIX YOUR FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ---- You can lose as much as 50% of your cooling abilities just from not having the proper fan shroud on a rwd vehicle, let alone an electricfan not working completely! This would also explain when you turn the heat on, the temp disipates. You're releasing heat through the heater core which is in turn attached to your cooling system.

well the thermostat hose is never hot, always feels warms or cold, even if I drive hard...

also whenever the car starts overheating 95% of the time is due driving it hard, and the resorvair tank water goes all the way up, and when I open the tank, theres vapor inside...

Fix your fan!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't mean that your hose should be scolding hot, it should be warm yes, or just hot.Your fan relay clicks on when your heat is going up which turns your fan on to cool the system. Your basically manually doing that by turning the heat on inside of the car, except it's a much smaller fan that's dissipating heat.
