Default NGK spark plugs

I've got some NGK plug wires but not NGK spark plugs. A guy at the store said that NGK plugs and wires don't always work well on civics unless they are heavily tuned. So I've been using these other wires (forget the name) that he said would work good. What do you guys think?

I'm thinking of putting the NGK plug wires back on, and getting maybe platinum or iridium NGK spark plugs. I've got a 98 civic ex coup, stock engine, with aem sri, and a magnaflow catback exhaust. Which kind would work the best for my car? Would I need to space the plugs or anything? Is their a certain kind that works better with v-tec?

use what your manual recommends. i know on my integra, the manual recommends either NGK or Denso standard copper plugs.

and that guy at the store is smoking crack btw...

Yea just get standard. Don't go all fancy. You dont have any forced induction or anything so you don't need anything more.

I wouldnt trust a single thing that guy at the storeever says. I only trust one guy at my autuozone. but thats because I know he has been working with civics for awhile and has done many swaps.

Use what the manual dictates. Too hot of a spark can cause damage. Not enough spark can cause damage. RTFM.
