Hi, I own a 2005 Civic 1.7 ctdi, when driving the other day I overtook a bus (not at high speed, 45 mph max) when pulled back in the Engine light came on and I had no revs above 2000 rpm...? Drives ok in all gears up to 2000 - 2200 rpm then nothing, out of gear and on tick over it will rev above 2000 no probs at all but when put in gear nothing above 2000, any ideas anyone please....

 

Engine light on means that there's a code you can scan. The code is usually a good clue to the problem.

Having the timing belt skip a tooth will cause a sudden serious decrease in performance.
