You also may want to replace the valve cover gasket to fix the oil leak.

Here are a couple of pics.
I don't see any terminal for a ground on the thermo housing...plus don't recall removing anything from there.
In the distributor pic......is there indeed supposed to be a spring between the protruding nub on the distributor and the indent on the cap?

What other distribuotr year/model can I ask for at the wreckers replace bits?
Thanks

Did some looking today...I guess I am missing the coil spring.
Where can I get just the spring or do I have to buy the coil as well....or worse, the whole distributor?
Thanks for any links or offering of a used one.

I think the spring comes with the cap. Test your coil with the cap off by holding a grounded test wire near its output terminal (where the spring goes), then crank. You should get strong sparks. If the sparks are weak there, the coil is bad anyway.

Thanks for that...could it be the Ignitor?
I read elsewhere, that if I had tried cranking with the spring missing, it could damage both the coil and ignitor....is this a fact?
Also...can I just use any ole spring that fits?
Thanks

yes you can use any ole spring that will fit, any coil form any 92-95 civic will fit,
for the grounds mentioned, it on the back part of the head not the front like your pic, that isnt the thermo stat housing.

Crap...like I said...new to Honda.
Will check on that, plus find a spring, plus test coil in car with a ground wire.

Could I have damaged ignitor or coil by cranking without the spring in place?

The coil could possibly have been damaged. Get a coil spring and go from there.

OK...found a spring that fits and holds on perfectly. Long enough to give a little resistance so I no it's connecting.
Cranked it over.....still no fire :-(
