Default Noise in clutch and brakes

I have a 2002 Civic sedan. When I press the clutch in about 3 to 4 inches, it makes a popping noise right at the top. Sounds like it's coming from inside car around clutch. Maybe the linkage. Also when I press the brake, it sometimes makes a clicking noise once as if it were the pads squeezing in. Noise comes from the front end. Especially when stopping after backing up. Car has 57 K on it and has been taken care of. I know both of these noise aren't normal. Any ideas. Thanks. SCRUFF 007
