Default obd 2 conversion

i have a 96 ej civic.....and a 91 civic 4 dr.....i just took the motor out of the 96 today....the motor i believe is the z6? or maybe it is the y8....anyways...i was gonna do a b16 drop in the 96 and decided to just sell it as a "shell" well i decided to take the whole wire hraness out along with the ecm....my plans now are to drop the d16z6 into my 91...and i wanted to know can i use the wire harness and the ecm out of my 96 for the swap into my 91? and will it be a pain to do this? thanks for any feed back

well i'm pretty sure that the 96 (OBD2) has an oxygen sensor in the header, and then one after the catalytic convertor. The 91 however, doesn't have an oxygen sensor after the cat.

I'm not sure if you can use the OBD2 in the 91 at all, but if you can you will be throwing a code without having the sensor after the catalytic converter. You would have to install a second oxygen sensor after the cat to be able to get rid of the code.

That is, if using the OBD2 is even possible...

EDIT: nevermind, i read your question wrong. I was thinking you wanted to put OBD2 on the 91's motor - I missed the part about dropping the z6

by the way though, i think it's a y8, not a z6
z6 was the motor from the 5th gen EX model

best thing to do is use your 91's intake manifold, fuel injectors, dizzy that aways it will stay obd0 just plug up and drive.now if you have dual point and are looking for more power and want to convert to mpfl. you should look for an si or ex 88-91 civic and get wire harness, ecu, dizzy, intake manifold ,injectors. it will be really really hard to convert your 91 into obd2. i put a obd2 99" civic motor into my obd1 95 4dr. and just put my intake manifold, injectors, dizzy. so i didnt have to convert.
