Odd headlight problem....Any ideas?
Hey,
I have a 99 honda civic lx, the right headlight does not work on the normal beams but the high beam works. If I open the hood and tap the headlight plug it ussually comes back on but it will go back out once I start driving (Anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour) anyone have any ideas? I havent had a chance to look at it yet its been to hot outside lately (100+ I can't take the heat, winter ftw) Thanks for any help!

well if it works when ya bump it id say theres 2-3 posiblities... one bad bulb. just has a busted filement or busted metal prong internaly maybe....
2nd might be busted wire on the wire plug that goes onto the headlights or even just dirty.
to see if its a wire problem just lightly push and pull on the wires on the plug trying not to push or pull to hard... and if the light comes ON and OFF then its a busted wire on the plug. either replace the plug or just cut the wires and crimp on some spade terminal wires and plug them directly onto the bulb.

i had a similar problem after i rearended someone and took it to a shop. turned out the wiring had a poor connection and was still frayed from the accident. simply check the fuses, wires, and bulbs and your problem should be solved.
