Default Air Condintion Problems.

I have a 1996 Honda Civic. When I turn it on the compressor kicks on and begins to get cold. But seconds after that I hear like a spray of freon coming out. I think its the condenser, but not sure.

sounds like a pressure relief valve ,

this usually indicates a problem i had a old ford ranger that did this and it had to much of something and it locked up the compressor i would get it checked out pretty quick.

Does the condenser fan work? It should start immediately with the compressor. A hissing noise inside the car can be normal. That's refrigerant flowing through the expansion valve. If it really were "spraying out", it would all be gone in a short time.

Does the A/C stop blowing cold at some point?

I turn it off as soon as I hear it. I haven't been running.
