oil filter for $10!

I took my civic si 1989 for oil change to an AAA-approved mechanic - they are trustworthy (don't overcharge; don't do excessive repair; and excellent quality). I got a bill and an oil filter was $9.95! (+$20 labor, the total was $47!.. not going there again just for oil change). It is "m18". So far other shops all charged $1-2 for a filter. Trusting them, I guess they used a premium filter. The question is - is it worth spending $10 for an oil filter?
Thanks.

heres what you should do.

go to your local walmart

buy the regular Mobil 1 fully sysnteic 5 quart jug for 21+ tax like 22- 23 bucks

go to a local Honda tuner shop they will sell u a oil filter for 5-7 $ or honda.

change it your self.. and youl save money on a systhetic oil change + a oil filter that correct for your honda..

honda oil filters = recommended for your handa <3 lol

If you google'oil filter reviews,' you can use your own judgment relating cost and quality

^ yes, I have yet to read anything positive about the Fram filters. In fact, the domestic Honda filter (15400-PLM-A02) is a Fram filter parading around in a blue container. Avoid if it has 'Honeywell' stamped on it. However, the 15400-PLM-A01 is a much better Filtech filter, also in a blue container. Practically the same on the outside, much different on the inside.

im using fram oil filter's, and am quite happy with it. royal purple oil and fram= me happy. but i am going to try a mobil 1 filter next time to see the difference, but from what everyone is saying, about the gaskets sucking or there being 2 of them i dont know. maybe its because canada is getting different filters that dont suck? but all i have to say is i thoroughly enjoy my fram filter
