Old School Timing Light: OK to Use?

I have an older timing light that intercepts between the plug wire and dist cap, as opposed to newer ones that clamp over the wire.

Is there any issue using this to set ignition timing on my '93 Del Sol?

Not sure if changing the impedance of the plug wire would mess with my brand new coil? It still completes the circuit to the plug, just has an additional low-resistance metal piece in there.

Thanks!

Those will work. Be sure it is securely connected, don't let the engine run with a spark wire disconnected.
