Overfill Oil in 2001 Civic
I just noticed that the crew who did my last oil changes put about a liter too much oil in my 1700CC 2001 Civic LX. That was about 3000 kM ago, any ideas as to the potential harm already done?

i dont think it'd do much harm just make your motor run slugy

you could run into problems with air bubbles being created, you best bet would be to drain the oil, or at least part of it, and then re-add untill it is within spec

I heard it takes a toll on seals. It allows the engine to have to much crank case pressure? Just what I heard. Good luck, Jason.

it's true. you can blow out the seals if there's too much oil.

if you didnt blow smoke, then your seals should be ok.

It appears the oil change crew threw in 4 liters where they should have only put in 3.2 Liters. Then I drove from Calgary to Yuma,AZ at 75 MPH speeds. Had the oil changed yesterday in Yuma (with 3US Quarts)which put the dip stick level 2/3 theheightbetween two markers. No signof damage/trouble yet.
