P0506 in 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid... dealer says to replace throttle body
Hi guys,
first, thank you for this forum. here my question:
my girlfriend's car (a 2007 honda civic hybrid) got a DTC P0506 idle control system, and being her living in another state now, she bring it to the dealer.
The dealer followed the flow chart diagnostic, they say that they cleaned the throttle body as well, and they are suggesting now to replace the throttle body at a cost of $700 part + $500 labor.
I see that i can get a new throttle body online for around $442, and usually, to replace a throttle body is just a few bolts away. i had removed/cleaned it twice in another engines (mitsubishi montero sport, ford f150)
The part number is 16400-RMX-003 THROTTLE BODY, ELECTRONIC CONTROL (GMA8A) which seems to be standard for several honda civic models in the 20xx years.
Ill be flying in the next days to visit her and can replace it. Any suggestion or warning from anyone with experience replacing it in the hybrid model?
I had found that the Haynes manual excludes hybrid models. i just dont want to open the hood and find that i will have to remove the flux capacitor before to arrive to the throttle body or something like that.
Thank you,
