Default Parking Brake Cable on 95 Civic Lx

My parking brake stopped working and i figured out that the right side cable is siezed up. i pulled off the drum assembly and i couldnt get the cable out from the drum backing plate. Does anyone know how to compress the piece holding it in so that i can get it out?

Slide a box end wrench or similar round object over the clip, use the size that just fits and it will press all the springs in so the cable comes out. You may need to take the shoes, etc. off to have space to do this.

It should not take a lot of force. The important thing is to press all the springs at once.
