Default Ping in the wheel

Yo!
Ya know how gravel sometimes gets in your wheelwell and pings around until it comes out? Well, I am having a regular occurance of that sound in my front wheels. It only happens between 40 and 50 mph and the feel of my ride hasn't changed. Everything feels fine, but that pinging noise is annoying!
Any ideas what it might be?
Thank you!
Hugs!
Kricket

If it's more of a metallic squeaking, the brake pad wear indicators may be sounding to alert you of the need to replace them.

Thaks Ron for reading, but I just had those redone. It isn't a squeal, nor a grind, more of a 'ping' that I occasionally hear in the driver's side wheel well.

Put the front end on stands, remove both front wheels, and inspect the driver's side wheel hub, suspension components, and well for something loose or a foreign object. Inspect the passenger side for comparison.

Could my springs be making a noise?

That's a possibility that would be revealed during the inspection if you find that the strut is loose.

It could be the expansion and contraction of the heat shield. My mom has a '99 LX and I've never heard a car pop and ping so much. That's kind of unlikely that it would become an annoyance, though.

What kind of pinging is it? Is it a hollow metalic ping or more of a knock or pop? First thing that came do my mind was have the inner and outer CV joints inspected! If the boots are damaged, they joint will need to be inspected and possibly replaced.

Yeah, it's also worth considering the exhaust heat shields, which are a common source for metallic noise.
