Default PLEASE HELP ME!!

I'm really confused, on my registration docs it says I have a 1999 1.4 16v civic. The only thing is everything i buy for a '99 civic doesn't fit i.e, the front grill, radiator cap. I've noticed on ebay that several of my car parts are the same as those on the 96-98 civic!

I need to know exactly what mine is as i want to do a big engine change to a 2.2 prelude, but don't know what i have already. I keep hearing B16/B15, can anyone please help me to find out my cars specs?

Honda didn't put a 1.4L in their Civics in 99. You sure you didn't buy a chopped and repaired car? That's the only reason I can think of that things don't click.

Thanks for the advice man, I know nothing about civics as I've only just got mine. What would the engine spec be for a '98 1.4 16v?

Now I'm ****ting it a bit, the front end does seem to not fit right but only the front. There are no weld marks under the chassis.

Is it possible it was a '98 model and not registered until '99, say it's just been sat in a honda factory?

All your help is much appreciated on this one

well the biggest problem your going to run into is you have a UKspec Honda which differ's a lot from USspec Honda's, majority of honda stuff on eBay is going to be for the USspec Honda's.

I know nothing about the UKspec Hondas otherwise I could help you out more but I'm sorry I cant. I can tell you just about anything you wanna know on the USspec or JDMspec Honda's though.

Good luck and welcome to the forum. I know there are a lot of ppl on here form the UK maybe one of them will be able to help you out.

I'd do a VIN Lookup. It could tell you Country of Manufacture and engine type installed. Careful when you do the VIN lookup as some places will tell you they want money. Use the Internet and see what you can find out before shelling out a couple of bucks.

thats probly not a 1.4 its probly I-4 as in Inline 4. And you should be able to call your local honda dealer and not only with they give you year but the history of the car and what dealer sold it. or you could do a carfax on it.

theres different engine sizes in other countries guys. i doubt he is the US.

the best way for us to help you is with a bunch of pictures. of the front end, the rear, the engine bay, the dash. that should do it.
