so i have 1992 4dr civic with a d15b which is non v-tech. i took off the intake manifold to clean the butterfly and were it sits. since i had it off i also took apart the FITV (Fast Idle Thermo Valve) and then put it back together carefully counting the turns to were i marked its position to make sure its back in the right place....BUT NOW FOR MY PROBLEM...now that everythings back together when i start the car the idle pulses...going from 1 to 3 back and forth...

ive taking everything back apart several times adjusting the FITV half turn this way and that and full turns so on and so on til i just put it back to the original spot. maybe its the lack of sleep or the kids driving me crazy but im almost to the point of want to just get a new ride...please save me and save my civic

 

FITV should be fully closed above 60 F. You can check by seeing if the port in the bottom of the throttle body before the throttle plate is sucking air. Excess air entering the intake from any source will cause idle speed to increase.
