Poor Gas Mileage.....Help Please

I have a '04 LX Automatic w/ 25,000 miles. Over the last month my mileage has gotten a lot worse. I use to average around 31mpg's on the highway and 25 mpg's around town. Now I'm struggling to get 25mpg's and 19 mpg's respectfully. Tire pressure is good - Air filter is clean - the book says not to change much until 100,000 miles... I had a oil change 2 months ago. I have always used 87 octane fuel. At first I thought that the gas I was buying was bad so I went to other stations and still the same problem.....

Any ideas???

Its probably a combination of your driving habbits (more aggressive now car is getting older), and the winter fuel blends.

How cold is the weather you're driving in? I find that I tend to get worse gas mileage in the winter versus the warmer months, particularly when it's ubercold like now (-20C or so).

I've always thought it's just the denser air causing more fuel to be burnt for the same air/fuel ratio, amongst other things, but I could be wrong.

i think bolts might be right, because i've also been getting about 6mpg less than last month and the weather has become significantly colder. i recently did the seafoam treatment, got new wheels and tires with higher air pressure (same diameter though), replaced the spark plugs and had the same driving habits. instead of seeing my gas mileage increase it went down significantly. i'm hoping its just the colder weather.
