Default Power source?

I'm trying to install an aftermarket automatic door lock kit with keyless remote. The instructions say "Find a constant 12v source and plug the red wire into that, and then put the black wire on a ground".. now, I've tried doing some searching on here, but I am a real newbie when it comes to electronics in a car.. I've seen people who are looking for a 12v source for their neons / cathodes pull it from the fuse box.

Now, in real newbie talk, how do you do that? I looked at the fuse box, and the info for the box, and there are a couple of available spots, but I have no idea as to how to go about getting the red wire hooked up to the available spot. Any help would be great.. thanks.
