power window stuck

yet another problem with my piece of ****. its one thing after another. well its always been off track a little bit but now it off of the track completely i see where the glass is supposed to be, in between these rails or something it is behind it and when i try to go up it just clicks no motor, i know the motor is fine though. i cant even pull it up with my hands it gets stuck half way what am i going to do :(

Pull off the door panel and place the window back into its side channels. Before reinstalling the door panel, spray some silicone lubricant into the top of each side rubber channel where the window edges slide, and let the lubricant drain down the channel by gravity. Next, connect the window switch, and roll the window up and down multiple times to ensure that the window now moves freely. Install the door panel, and you should be good to go.

i cant get the window back in the side channels its stuckk!!

RonJ 12-10-2008 06:28 PM

Do you have the door panel off?

bassman09 12-10-2008 06:31 PM

your gonna have to unscrew the bolt that holds the window in place, so that you can put it back on track.

mtchu736 12-10-2008 06:31 PM

yes i have easy access to the window i even took the screw off to move the side channels its really stuck. idk?

RonJ 12-10-2008 06:36 PM

Remove the two bolts at the bottom of the window glass to free the window from the regulator. You should then be able to lift and move the window.

ahh ok you guys are so smart thanks

The two bolts screw into the two tabs at the bottom of the window glass. Do you have those tabs properly aligned with the corresponding slots in the window regulator?

I don't understand. Can you post a photo? There's no bushing.

mtchu736 12-11-2008 06:01 PM

see the picture you posted, where it says glass mounting bolt see how one side the hole is bigger my screw slides over to that and the screw fits in there so now its not attached to it

RonJ 12-11-2008 06:24 PM

Position the window so that the loosened bolts are inserted into the large holes of the regulator (see diagram). Next, shimmy the window to the left so that the loosened bolts slide into the smaller grooves, and then tighten the bolts in that position.

ok i did it. but now i have a problem when i push the up button i hear loud snaps and it does not go up... its in the channels why is it not going up.

This suggests that the window regulator may be bad. Remove the window again, and then the regulator. Remove the motor from the regulator. I suspect that the regulator won't move freely in a scissor-like fashion. If so, you need to replace the regulator. Look here for a replacement:

everytime i try to go up it falls out of the channel the regulator looks fine is there a loose screw? i know im annoying haha.

RonJ 12-11-2008 07:30 PM

Remove the regulator and test whether it is bad as I mentioned above.
