PROBLEMS after oil change
Hey guys, sorry about this being my first post but I'm caught in a pickle and need a hand.
My problem is after I changed my oil the car won't start at all. The dash and instruments all light up, however the battery is not being touched in any way. Now, I did let the oil drain from the pan for about 2 hours before I filled her back up. I didn't leave any lights on or anything to warrant thebattery draining. I know for a fact the oil change can't cause this. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, I checked the batteries cells and tried to jump the car, but like I said, I don't think it has anything to do with the battery.

What year and model Civic?
Start by charging the battery and cleaning the battery terminals and connectors.
If the engine still won't crank, then supply battery power directly to the starter. If the engine doesn't crank, then the starter itself may be bad.
Make sure you also check for blown fuses.

Just what I expected! It was something totally different (previous owner had a killswitch and I tripped it!). I was really about to break something considering it was just a measly oil change. Time to sit back, open a cold one, and relax.
Thanks for the reply Ron.
I'm looking forward to roaming the site

Sounds like a grounding issue. Check them for looseness, wiggle them around and try to start the car. Mine will run fine and when i turn it off sometimes, it won;t start back up. I've got a loose ground in the starter circuit and all it takes is to wiggle around the connections. I would try giving the negative battery terminal a good wiggle. if that doesn't get it started, than try with all of the other ones.
