Hi,

I have a 96 civic dx coupe. My drivers door manual window crank went bad, I believe the gears are stripped. I have had no luck finding a replacement part and at this point the door is held up by a 1x3 inside of my door....I am wondering, does my back drivers side door have the exact same part as the front drivers door? If so I will take it from back there and use it up front as that is naturally the most used window. The part that I am referring to is the long flat metal piece and its attached crank mechanism.

 

You need to replace the window regulator. You can buy a regulator from your local Honda dealer or from an online OEM parts store, like Majestic Honda.

 

I've checked that majestic honda site before and again just now, they don't stock the part I need. I've checked all the local parts stores with no luck and nobody seems to be selling it on the various internet sites I've checked...that is why I was asking my original question.
