Default Ready To Install Oil Pan, any last minute suggestions?

Saturday, I'm gonna install my new oil pan. Any last minute suggestions, or things that could go wrong I need to know about?

I got an in-lbs. torque wrench, a small toolkit, one new oil pan gasket, one new oil pan (with drain plug included), 4 qts of Valvoline 5W-30, one NAPA 1334 Oil FIlter, and "The Book" my 1993 Civic Repair Manual by Honda.

Going to Largo Honda tomorrow to buy the liquid gasket.

Beer

the hardest part will be removing the exhaust manifold (if it's stock)
it's just a pain because it is in the way.

you'll need a long extension to reach all the nuts/bolts, I have a 3" and 6" and I may have used both of them.

and read all the instructions in the manual before you start

remember to let the 4 corners at the last, cause if you star in one side to another that can cause a litl bend in your oil panel and later a leak cause it going to be uneven...

I forgot to go get theliquid gasketat Honda. I can go tomorrow, but is there any I can get other than the Honda one or do I have to use the one from Honda? Also, does this mean I will need a new exhaust manifold gasket? Or can I remove the downpipe and work from there?

Well, I ALMOST got it done, but I could not get the downpipe off! We tried and tried with an impact gun and everything, buttwo out of the three bolts would not loose! So we tried to pull the pan off anyway, but it would not wiggle out of the space between the downpipe and the block. Also, the panel on the transmission makes it difficult to remove bolts 17 and 18 without a really deep socket. That is doable, but we were SO CLOSE to getting that pan off!

So, tomorrow we're gonna brainstorm a more pyrotechnic method of loosening the bolts.

Hey, at least I changed the oil! Now I just hope that Hondabond keeps that sure-seal plug on...

You are NOT going to believe this! The oil pan does not line up by a matter of a couple MILLIMETERS!!! I took it into Largo 'cause I could not get access to a lift anywhere, and the gasket does not fit the pan. So they took the gasket in the stock and it too did not line up. The pan is too short by a matter of millimeters! Like someone shrunk the pan in a shrinker by a tiny amount! GRAAAAH!!! So, for the second time, a sure seal plug with a lot of Hondabond is going to hold up the engine oil.

So, does anyone want an oil pan that does NOT fit the D15B7? $50 eBay Special!!!
