Rear window defrost problem on an 02&03

I have an 02 EX Coupe and my friend has an 03 ExCoupe and they both have the same problem. The rear window defoger doesn't work 100% and when turned on it ruins the radio reception. I looked ove the heating elements and none of them are damaged. It didn't happen over time or after maintenance, one day it worked and the next it didn't, and every once in a while it seems not to interfere with the radio reception. About half the heating elements work, but not in any particular pattern. Is there some type of resistor that went bad or something? Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks Ron. Hopefully I can get the rear interior panels out this weekend and check the voltages. I'd have to guess that the noise condensor has crapped out on both cars. I also have to change the trunk/gas cap cover release cable, so I need to get the interior apart anyway. Thanks again and have a good weekend.
