it still gets cold here, it just doesn't snow, even when it's cold enough to.
right now lows are at 58... great weather. bahahahaha

oh and, that shift ****, is just as bad here but in the opposite way... that thing was burning hot a couple times when i got in the car. not that the steering wheel wasn't though, it was just as hot. lol

After you replace the transmitter battery, you must press the LOCK or UNLOCK button five to six times near the car to activate the transmitter.

If that doesn't work, then next try this:

Does your transmitter have a red LED that lights up when you press a button? If so, is this working? Have you tried reprogramming the transmitter as shown in the diagram? Is fuse 14, 28, or 47 blown?

if the transmitter needed to be reprogrammed how does that explain the sporadicness of its working? and fuses being blown. i would think that would cause it to just stop working all at once. it worked all the time to begin with then it only worked sometimes and then one day it just stopped owrking. and i do believe it has a red led that lights up and if i recall it did light up last time i pressed the button. i dont have the transmitter with me right now its in my room at home. i can call my mom and ask her to check it for me

I thought that when the transmitter was working sporadically, the battery ended up being at fault. Then you replaced the battery. Sometime later, it just didn't work. If correct, my explanations are feasible.

Yeah, if the transmitter has a red LED that no longer lights up when the button is pushed, then the transmitter or battery is bad.

By the way, in your first post, you say that the remote worked sporadically and then eventually crapped out.

Do you have a 96-98 Civic? The 96-98 service manual details a series of electrical input tests for the keyless receiver unit (see pages 23-226 to 23-227). You may have a loose ground wire in the circuit.
