Hello all,

Car is Honda Civic DX 2000 model year. 4 spd Auto, stock 1.6 4cyl. Car has approximately 160,000 miles, and is used as daily driver (no hard driving), has undergone regular maintenance since purchased.

I keep loosing compression in the 4th cylinder. I've had the head gaskets replaced, the cylinder heads re-machined, and replaced the catalytic converter. There was a CEL for a little while, but it went away after having the code cleared and didn't return.

On Easter Sunday, the idle started getting really rough while heading home. About half-way home, I lost compression in the cylinder. I don't feel like redoing the upper motor every 6 months: I'm inclined to think there is something else going on.

Any input would be appreciated.
