Default resonance of exhaust pipe

Hi,

I have a 2004 CIVIC. Recently, I found that when I press the brake pedal to wait for the traffic lights, a resonace noise comes from the exhaust pipe. When the car is running, the noise disappears.

Anyone has some idea about this?

Thanks

Not sure what you mean by resonance? Do you mean a rattling noise or a vibration? How do you know the "resonance" comes from the exhaust pipe? Is your idle speed dropping below normal when you are stopped?

It is vibration. My friend noticed the vibration of theexhaust pipewhen he followed my car, so I am pretty sure the noise comes from the exhaust tail.
I don't know the idle rpm, because my car is a VP trim, notachometer on the dashboard.

I recommend that you crawl under the car (when the exhaust system is cool) to see whether any of the exhaust mounting brackets are loose or broken.
