Default Rod Snapped in Cylinder #3

I found a 97 Civic LX sedan 4-door sunroof etc. and it has a broken rod in the cylinder #3 and I was wondering what stops me from sticking any civic engine in the sucker?

If I can't just pop any 'ol thing in, surely there must be more than just a D16Y7 that I can throw up front?

I can pick it up for $600 what do you guys think?

Only the EX had a sunroof in '97.
