Rough Idle when Air Conditioning is turned on
Hi everyone,
I have a 2000 Honda Civic with 130,000 miles on it. Whenever I turn on the air conditioning the cars idle is rough if i am sitting at a stop light or something. If i turn off the A/C the car idles perfectly. It seems like the idle is not being adjusted when the A/C is engaged.
Does anyone know what controls this? What do I need to replace or have repaired to fix this issue?
Thanks,
Steve

Any CEL codes? With the A/C off, the high beams on, and cabin blower on high, is the idle also rough?
Does the A/C work well? Was any A/C work recently done?
Does the condenser fan run? If you spray water from a garden hose onto the condenser with engine idling and the A/C on, does the idle improve?
