okay, well i took it back and put on my really pissed off face. They were very apologetic and the manager took care of me right away and brought up the work order and actually sent the guy that did it home while i was there (he was in his 30's). Apparently he has ****ed up a lot or something, i dunno.

They put the car on the rack immediately and started to drain the oil in there and change the filter. ( i was right there the whole time watching just outside the garage) then they put plastic and blue masking tape on some stuff and then sprayed it down, then they got in there with shop towels and hand cleaned everything else that may have oil on it. They couldn't find my oil cap so they ordered a new one from the local honda dealer and it should be here on thursday (2 days)

They gave me 3 free oil changes and a coupon for 10% off any set of tires and the owner said if there is any problem in the next few weeks to tell him immediately.

No there was no oil light or CEL or temp spike at all. I drove it for about an hour and then got a cap and put some oil back in.

The ****ty thing about this is that this really is a reputable place, i have been taking my car here for years and they have been nothing but great. I have bought 3 sets of tires from them and they usually fix little **** for free or take that extra step. (like tell me that my brake pad is getting worn down and then show me while the car is on the lift how to take the wheel off and do it myself) I brought my car there one time becuase my fans weren't working and it turned out to be a fuse and they didn't charge me a cent. The only reason i get my oil changed there is because they rotate my tires for free and only charge me $15 for the oil change ($10 with the coupon) thats as much as it would cost me and it saves me time (usually)

But after saying all of that i really don't know if i can take my car back there, i mean i know people make mistakes some times but i mean come on.

sparkhard,

this is good news. it sounds like one rotten apple has ruined the whole apple cart. i'm glad to hear that the manager did the right thing and restored your engine bay to a relatively clean condition. i would just keep my eyes and ears perked up to make sure that i am listening to the car for the next few weeks. that way you can bring it back if you hear/see/feel anything out of the ordinary. it does sound like you caught it early enough that it probably didn't ruin the engine but you never know.

At a local Goodyear dealer that has been there for 25 years. It's called Moore & Patron. I usually go there for my tires since they have never dicked me around and they actually validated a warranty on 1 tire that was showing metal after 20,000 miles with regular rotation.

The store didn't cause the problem, it was just that one man who, like the manager said, has been messing up quite a bit.
So just make sure that one guy doesn't touch your car.
Just because one guy messes up, doesn't mean the whole place is $hitty

I agree...if the manager is worth anything he'll do his best to make you happy and keep you as a customer. If he's worthless...he'll try and put the blame on you somehow. I've seen it happen, I've been the cranky customer too. If they do offer to clean up your car and change the oil, watch them like a hawk...The mechanics at the back might want "revenge" (which is pretty sad but not unheard of) for you catching their mistake.
