Have you checked your fan belts? If they are loose or wore out they can do as you describe.

Sounds like a loose alternator belt. If its more than few years old, you should put a new one on, it gets loose because its stretched out from age.

ummm...i just recently got my alternator replaced plus the belt...but i think that mechanic might have punked me and to save his cost he put on a old alternator belt when i told him to get a new one...i think its the belt i could hear it...is it something i should get done asap or is it okay if i wait for about a week thats when i get paid.

You can wait, it's not going to destroy anything. But the mechanic should be willing to check and tighten the belts for you no charge since it's a problem from the original job.
